Love my new Full Fibre!

Oh my gosh, I just got their Full Fibre and it's AMAZING! The speeds are incredible, everything loads instantly. Gaming is super smooth now, no lag at all. Seriously so happy I switched! The whole process was painless. Definitely recommending Origin Broadband to all my friends!

Good switch, minor router issue

I switched to Origin Broadband's Superfast Fibre plan last month and the setup process was pretty smooth overall. Ordering online was straightforward, and I received confirmation emails promptly. Delivery of the router took 5 days to reach me in Denver, which was reasonable. The router itself was a standard model, but I had a bit of trouble getting my older smart home devices to connect to it initially. After a quick call to support, who were helpful and patient, we figured out it was a compatibility setting. The internet speed has been consistently good, hitting close to the advertised Fibre 65 speeds during peak hours. Customer service was responsive, and the quality of the connection is definitely an upgrade from my previous provider. I appreciated the no activation fee deal they had going on.

Decent value, slow delivery

I signed up for the Gfast Fibre plan and opted for the Anytime UK Calls package. The value for money seems quite good, especially with the introductory pricing. Speeds have been mostly consistent, though I did notice a slight dip during very high usage times in the evening. My main gripe was the delivery time for the router; it took over a week to arrive, which felt a bit long when I was eager to get connected. Customer service was polite when I called to check on it. Overall, a solid service, but they could improve on shipping times.

Pretty good internet

Switched to Origin Broadband for their Standard Broadband plan. It was pretty easy to get set up, no big fuss. Internet works fine for streaming and regular stuff. Had some friends over last weekend and everyone could get online without much trouble. No complaints really, it just works.

Reliable service again

This is my third year with Origin Broadband, and they've been consistently good. I just renewed my Fibre 35 plan. The process was quick online, just like before. My internet has always been stable, which is why I keep coming back. I remember my first time setting up, I had some questions about the Home Phone Plans, but their FAQ section cleared everything up. This renewal was even easier since I already knew what to expect. No issues with billing or service interruptions. It's nice to have a provider you can count on.

Thinking of switching to Origin, how long does the whole process actually take from signing up to getting connected?

N Nina N. 2 months ago
Mine was pretty quick, about 2 weeks from when I signed up to getting the service active. They send you a router and everything.

Depends if you're getting full fibre or not. If it's just ADSL or regular fibre over the phone line, it's usually faster, like 10-14 days. Full fibre might need an engineer visit so can stretch a bit longer, maybe 3-4 weeks sometimes.

Does Origin Broadband give you a router? Or do I need to buy my own?

C Chris 2 months ago
Yeah, they send one. It's usually decent enough for most houses.

You get a router included with your plan. It's part of the package, so no need to buy one separately unless you want something super fancy or specific.

Can you get a student discount with Origin Broadband?

L Laura Nguyen 2 months ago
I've seen student deals pop up around August/September time before, might be seasonal.

They do offer student specific deals sometimes, especially around university term times. It's worth checking their 'deals' section on the website or looking for specific student broadband pages.

Anyone know if Origin uses the Openreach network? Just wondering about coverage and reliability.

C Colin Doyle 1 month ago
Yes, they do. Most of the smaller providers in the UK use Openreach for their lines.

They operate on the Openreach network for their ADSL and Fibre services, which is pretty standard. So if Openreach covers your area, Origin should be available. For full fibre, it depends on the newer fibre rollout in your specific street.

How easy is it to cancel Origin Broadband if I decide it's not for me?

J Josh 1 month ago
I haven't cancelled myself, but I heard you just need to give them a call and go through the usual process.

A Amber 1 month ago
It's like most providers, you need to contact their customer service to initiate the cancellation. There's usually a notice period, and if you're still in contract, there might be early termination fees, so check your agreement.
